Detailed specifications, accurate drawings, and precise quantities are essential for the successful implementation of such a system in a Qatar construction project. Chain link fence system is more than just the mesh itself. It's a comprehensive assembly of interconnected elements designed to provide a secure barrier. The chain link mesh, typically galvanized and often PVC-coated for enhanced durability and corrosion resistance in Qatar's climate, forms the core of the system. The specifications for this mesh will detail the wire gauge, mesh size (the diamond-shaped openings), height, and coating type. These specifications are crucial for ensuring the fence meets the required strength and longevity standards.Beyond the mesh, the supporting structure is equally critical. Why Bury the Fence?
- Ground Beam Design: The ground beam must be strong enough to support the fence and withstand soil pressure.
- Corrosion: While chain link fences are typically galvanized to prevent rust, burying them can expose the material to moisture and chemicals in the soil, potentially accelerating corrosion. Consider using a protective sealant or corrosion-resistant materials for the buried portion.
- Drainage: Proper drainage is essential to avoid water buildup around the fence, which could cause instability and corrosion. The ground beam should incorporate adequate drainage.
Installation Process
- Ground Beam Construction: Pour a reinforced concrete beam that is wide and deep enough to support the fence.
- Fence Installation:
- Posts: Set the posts directly into the wet concrete, ensuring they are plumb and aligned.
- Fabric: Attach the chain link fabric to the posts once the concrete has cured. The fabric’s bottom portion can be buried in the beam.
- Backfilling: After installation, backfill the area around the ground beam with compacted soil for stability.
